Even though the summer is quickly drawing to an end why not try out this week’s flavour packed summery recipie.  If you’re on a low-carb or Paleo / ketogenic type diet then you will want to check out this recipe we found on It’s simple, packed full of protein and flavour. It will only take minutes to prepare and seconds to eat. This are a must for your paleo recipe book! Just remember to ask your local fishmonger to peel and devein the shrimp for you, it will save you the hassle of googling how to do it. If you don’t have a fishmonger near you, please double check the packaging before buying the shrimp.


  • 1-2 lbs of uncooked shrimp – peeled
  • 2 cloves of garlic – pressed
  • 1 tsp of sea salt
  • 1 tsp of paprika
  • 1/2 tsp of cayenne
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 Head of lettuce
  • Wooden skewers soaked in water for about an hour – or use metal skewers if you prefer


Step 1: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the garlic, salt, paprika and cayenne

STEP 2: Next pour your fresh-squeezed lemon juice into the bowl and stir well

STEP 3: Finally add the raw shrimp to the bowl, toss well, and let them soak up the marinade while you preheat the grill

STEP 4: Place the marinated shrimp on skewers and grill 2-3 minutes per side over medium heat until opaque

STEP 5: Pull off large, curved lettuce leaves

STEP 6: (Optional) fresh avocado slices to each

STEP 7: Roll up and enjoy!
